About the position

The Agreements Manager for the State of Utah is a senior-level position responsible for designing, formulating, preparing, processing, and coordinating contracts and grants at a state or department level. This role involves providing technical assistance and expert consultation on grants and contracts, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and departmental requirements, and monitoring contractor performance while maintaining fiscal control. The position may also involve supervising subordinate staff.

Responsibilities

  • Writes, reviews, and/or negotiates grants, contracts and/or agreements.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines.
  • Ensures all required aspects of the contract are completed according to specifications and to contract requirements.
  • Reviews fiscal operations to ensure integrity, accuracy and control of data.
  • Provides technical assistance and contract interpretation to contractors.
  • Meets and confers with management, users, and contract providers to resolve problems and coordinate services.
  • Monitors agency or program budget including revenues, expenditures and budget projection.

Requirements

  • Senior level experience in contract management and grants administration.
  • Expertise in federal, state, and agency regulations regarding contracts and grants.
  • Strong analytical skills to monitor and analyze contractor performance.

Nice-to-haves
