About the position

The Agriculture Program Manager is responsible for overseeing a specific agency program within the Arkansas Department of Agriculture. Responsibilities

  • Provide general supervision of subordinate professional, para-professional, and administrative support staff.
  • Monitor budgets and expenditures, approving transactions based on available budget and agency restrictions.
  • Develop and monitor federal grants for special projects, including preparing grant proposals and reviewing expenditures.
  • Implement guidelines, policies, and procedures for program development and coordinate activities within the agency.
  • Prepare reports related to program functions for upper management and program personnel.
  • Compile budgetary reports and advise departmental managers on financial matters.
  • Provide technical assistance to management, staff, and the public regarding program regulations and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in agriculture, business administration, or a related field.
  • Three years of experience in program organization and administration, including two years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
