The Agricultural / Commercial Loan Officer is responsible for developing new business and client relationships, producing a variety of agricultural loans, and managing a portfolio of business and corresponding relationships. This position entails underwriting, structuring, and closing agricultural loans that meet established lending requirements while maximizing profitability for the bank with minimal risk. The Loan Officer will build solid, profitable relationships with clients and prospects to establish and service a sound portfolio. In this role, the Loan Officer will analyze client and prospect needs, recommending appropriate solutions that align with the bank's credit culture. They will also analyze and screen loan requests, negotiate terms and conditions, and structure loan financing based on risk considerations consistent with bank policy and Asset/Liability guidelines. The Loan Officer will approve loans within assigned lending limits and prepare or present credits outside those limits for approval to the appropriate levels of authority as required. Additionally, the Loan Officer will foster and maintain cohesive partnerships and working relationships with all lines of business within the bank. They will effectively evaluate and manage each client relationship and transaction for financial and credit risk, ensuring compliance with government regulations and bank policy to assure conformity with required laws and terms. The Loan Officer will maintain an awareness of competitive products, practices, rates, and changes in the local market, representing the bank in the local community through proactive participation in community, charitable, business, and social activities.
