About the position
The Agronomist position at Country Visions Cooperative is a full-time role focused on providing exceptional customer service and support in agronomy. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and increasing sales of crop inputs, managing customer relationships, and ensuring customer satisfaction. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge in agronomy and strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients and address their unique needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide a consistently high level of customer service and satisfaction.
- Engage in customer conversations focused on their unique needs and profit improvement.
- Maintain and increase sales of crop inputs and related products to established customers, making 2-3 sales calls per day.
- Identify and prioritize potential new accounts and secure their business through appropriate opportunities.
- Respond to customer needs and provide solutions.
- Utilize computer software for field mapping, crop planning, and record keeping of customer operations.
- Prioritize daily activities and maintain records of prospect call activities and targeting plans.
- Provide operations personnel with concise directions and communications for efficient customer service.
- Be accessible to customers and fellow employees during business hours.
- Collaborate with other Country Visions Cooperative employees daily.
- Travel between Country Visions Cooperative buildings and customer locations as required.
- Work additional hours during peak seasons, especially in May and June.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of prior experience in agronomy or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; CCA certification preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of agronomic crop production practices.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to interruptions and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Prior experience with field mapping software.
- Valid Class A CDL preferred but not required; reimbursement for CDL schooling available.
- Possess a Wisconsin Commercial Pesticide Operators license or ability to obtain one.
