The Agronomy Operations Specialist will be responsible for the daily product distribution and blending of agricultural products at our location. This role involves assisting with inventory management and the maintenance of equipment and facilities. The specialist will also provide support to customers and collaborate with other departments as needed. Key responsibilities include operating the fertilizer blend system, ensuring accurate product accounting, and maintaining safety and compliance standards. The position requires a proactive approach to equipment maintenance and a commitment to supporting the overall goals of the company. In addition to the core responsibilities, the Agronomy Operations Specialist will assist with customer product pickups and deliveries, collaborate with the Operations Manager to ensure equipment and facilities are in good working order, and contribute to the annual budget planning process. The role also involves preparing reports of business transactions and maintaining expense accounts. The ideal candidate will demonstrate essential abilities such as business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision-making, and skill development, all while adhering to the company's Code of Conduct and safety policies.

Responsibilities

  • Operate fertilizer blend system and complete delivery tickets.
  • Blend products according to recommended rates and procedures.
  • Ensure all product is accounted for with either an invoice or delivery ticket.
  • Responsible for inventory control and submit tickets on a daily basis.
  • Operate loaders, forklifts, and other powered equipment.
  • Load and unload containers, pallets, or materials and products safely on/off trucks or trailers.
  • Maintain, repair, rebuild, and/or service location equipment, vehicles, and structures as needed.
  • Perform and record daily safety checks and follow the preventative maintenance program.
  • Assist other departments as needed including deliveries, maintenance, and customer service.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to ensure all equipment and facilities are in good working order.
  • Assist with annual budget planning process and prepare reports of business transactions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related work experience.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to read blend tickets and convert units of measure.
  • Must currently have or have the opportunity to obtain a CDL license with required endorsements.
  • Satisfactory driving record and valid medical card.
  • Ability to work extended hours during the busy season.
  • Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making, and skill development.
