About the position

The Agronomy Sales Internship at Horizon Resources offers a hands-on opportunity for individuals to gain practical experience in the agricultural sector. Interns will work closely with the Agronomy Location Manager and engage in various aspects of retail agronomy, including sales, customer service, and crop scouting. This internship is designed to provide valuable insights and connections within the local farming community during the growing season from May to August.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with daily operations of the agronomy department including working with customers in person and over the phone
• Maintaining and tracking inventory
• Safely operating company pick-ups and forklifts
• Assisting with crop scouting including the operation of an ATV
• Learning to use agronomy programs such as Agvance and FarmQA

Requirements

• Must be available to work full time during the growing season (May - August)
• Ability to work from 7 am to 6 pm during May and June
• Strong communication skills for customer interaction
• Basic understanding of agricultural practices

Nice-to-haves

• Experience or coursework in agronomy or agricultural sciences
• Familiarity with agricultural software programs
