About the position

As a Senior AI and ML Engineer at Booz Allen, you will be an integral member of our elite Digital Battlespace Platform (DBP) team, dedicated to developing next-generation technologies for our defense clients. Your primary focus will be on leading materials and science engineering efforts, where you will process data and information utilizing advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) technologies. You will engage with cutting-edge principles, theories, and concepts, contributing to the development of innovative solutions for complex problems in the defense sector. This role requires a deep understanding of AI and ML models, as well as the ability to provide highly innovative solutions to unusually complex challenges. In this position, you will be responsible for developing, training, testing, and integrating AI and ML models, with a strong emphasis on optimizing these models for small form factor edge compute devices. You will work with various custom tools, including Python, Shell Scripting, SQL, and cloud storage tools, to create benchmark datasets and Python packages that facilitate data science objectives. Your expertise will also extend to conducting research and implementing the latest advancements in ML to analyze and process large-scale spatio-temporal data for edge processors. Additionally, you will be involved in deploying models in Docker or Docker Compose, ensuring that they are effectively integrated into existing networks using virtual machines or containerization. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively with clients to deploy ML systems. You will be expected to possess excellent analytical skills and a strong background in defense-related projects. A Secret clearance is required for this position, and candidates must have at least a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for those holding a Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Data Science.

Responsibilities

• Create benchmark datasets and Python packages to facilitate data science objectives.
• Conduct research and implement the latest advancements in ML for large-scale spatio-temporal data analysis.
• Develop and test AI and ML models for low size, weight, and power (SWAP) devices.
• Deploy models in Docker or Docker Compose.
• Collaborate with clients to deploy ML systems in existing networks using virtual machines or containerization.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience developing, training, testing, and integrating AI and ML models.
• Experience with custom tools, including Python, Shell Scripting, SQL, or Cloud storage tools.
• Experience optimizing and compressing AI and ML models for small form factor edge compute devices, including quantization or pruning.
• Experience creating benchmark datasets and Python packages to facilitate data science objectives.
• Experience conducting research and implementing the latest advancements in ML to analyze and process large-scale spatio-temporal data for edge processors.
• Experience developing and testing AI and ML models for low size, weight, and power (SWAP) devices, including Qualcomm Snapdragon, Nvidia Jetson Xavier and Orin, or Raspberry Pi.
• Experience deploying models in Docker or Docker Compose.
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
• HS diploma or GED.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience using deep learning frameworks, including Keras, TensorFlow lite, or PyTorch mobile.
• Experience implementing ML pipelines using TensorFlow, Numpy, Scikit-Learn, OpenCV, DVC, W&B, TFLite, SNIPE, SHAP, UMAP, or ART.
