About the position

As a Business Risk Portfolio Manager enabling the AI Center of Excellence (COE) at U.S. Bank, you will collaborate with various teams to manage risks associated with AI products and ensure effective risk management frameworks are in place. This role focuses on identifying and mitigating risks while enhancing customer experiences and operational effectiveness. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in risk management, particularly in AI/ML environments, and will work closely with senior leaders and risk consultants to oversee compliance and risk protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with AI product, design, operations, and technology teams to deliver impactful results.
  • Identify existing and emerging risks within assigned portfolios and ensure appropriate controls are in place.
  • Collaborate with business and risk stakeholders in an open environment to evaluate new ideas and solutions.
  • Oversee the creation, implementation, and maintenance of an effective AI risk management framework.
  • Assist with projects ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Provide consultation on critical business processes and controls related to AI risk management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • More than 10 years of experience in Financial Services Risk Management and/or Compliance, particularly in Digital, AI/ML environments.
  • Expert knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies.
  • Strong understanding of AI/ML product development processes and model risk management.
  • Excellent communication skills for technical discussions and business presentations.
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable AI/ML laws and emerging risks.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
