About the position

The Risk Portfolio Manager for the AI Center of Excellence (COE) at U.S. Bank will play a crucial role in managing risks associated with AI/ML initiatives. This individual contributor position involves collaborating with various stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring compliance with regulations, and developing effective risk management frameworks. The role requires a deep understanding of AI product development processes and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business audiences.

Responsibilities

• Partner with AI product, design, operations, and technology teams to deliver impactful results.
• Identify existing and emerging risks within assigned portfolios and ensure appropriate controls are in place.
• Oversee the creation, implementation, and maintenance of an effective AI risk management framework.
• Consult on critical business processes and controls related to AI initiatives.
• Assist with projects ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Support regulatory and audit reviews, and manage issue remediations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• More than 10 years of experience in Financial Services Risk Management and/or Compliance, particularly in Digital, AI/ML environments.
• Expert knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML product development processes and model risk management.
• Excellent communication skills for technical discussions and business presentations.
• Advanced knowledge of applicable AI/ML laws and emerging risks.
