About the position

The AI Center of Excellence (COE) Risk Management - Portfolio Risk Lead role at U.S. Bank involves partnering with various stakeholders to manage risks associated with AI products and services. The position focuses on ensuring effective risk management frameworks are in place, particularly in the context of AI/ML technologies, while also enhancing customer experiences and operational effectiveness. The role requires collaboration with senior leaders and risk consultants to identify and mitigate emerging risks, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with colleagues across AI product, design, operations, and technology to deliver impactful results.
  • Work with business and risk partners to ensure appropriate controls and monitoring are in place for risk mitigation.
  • Identify existing and emerging risks in a collaborative environment.
  • Oversee the creation, implementation, and maintenance of an effective AI risk management framework.
  • Assist with projects ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Provide consultation on critical business processes and controls related to AI.
  • Support the development of internal solutions for a digital-first, cloud-first business model.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Typically more than 10 years of Financial Services Risk Management and/or Compliance experience in Digital, AI/ML, or applicable risk management environments.
  • Expert knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML product development processes and model risk management (MRM).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for technical discussions and business presentations.

  • Strong collaboration skills with a history of successful project outcomes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
