About the position

Outlier is seeking talented writers with fluency in English to assist in training generative artificial intelligence models. This role is a reading and writing-intensive freelance opportunity that is fully remote, allowing for flexible hours to accommodate your schedule. As a writer, you will contribute your expertise by engaging in various tasks that include reading English text to rank a series of responses generated by an AI model, writing and rewriting prompts and responses—which may require research and fact-checking—and assessing the factuality and relevance of the text produced by AI models. This position is ideal for those who have a strong command of the English language and a passion for writing and editing.

Responsibilities

• Read English text to rank a series of responses produced by an AI model.
• Write and rewrite prompts and responses, which may involve research and fact-checking.
• Assess the factuality and relevance of text produced by AI models.

Requirements

• Experience as a professional writer or editor.
• Currently enrolled in or completed an associate degree or higher in a writing-related discipline at an accredited institution.
• A strong sense of writing style paired with exceptional English-language spelling and grammar.
• Strong logic and reasoning skills.
• Attention to detail and the ability to clearly explain the strengths and weaknesses of a given piece of text.
