About the position

Outlier is seeking talented English writers to assist in training generative artificial intelligence models. This remote, freelance opportunity offers flexible hours, allowing writers to work at their convenience. The role involves reading and ranking AI-generated responses, writing and rewriting prompts, and assessing the factuality and relevance of AI-produced text.

Responsibilities

• Reading English text to rank a series of responses produced by an AI model.
• Writing and rewriting prompts and responses, which may involve research and fact-checking.
• Assessing the factuality and relevance of text produced by AI models.

Requirements

• Experience as a professional writer or editor.
• Currently enrolled in or completed an associate degree or higher in a writing-related discipline at an accredited institution.
• A strong sense of writing style paired with exceptional English-language spelling and grammar as well as logic and reasoning skills.
• Attention to detail and the ability to explain clearly the strengths and weaknesses of a given piece of text.
