About the position

As an AI Content Writer at Amazon, you will play a crucial role in the development and training of large language models (LLMs) through the review and analysis of generated data demonstrations. This position is a nine-month fixed temporary assignment, where you will be responsible for generating preference data that will be used to enhance the performance of AI systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence in content creation. You will work closely with support teams to review guidelines, suggest updates, and engage in team calibrations to ensure the highest quality of data generation. Your work will not only involve reviewing machine-generated content but also creating original and engaging content across various work types to train LLMs effectively. In this role, you will operate with a high degree of autonomy while leveraging your expertise in diverse fields such as Computer Science, Literature, Music, Mathematics, Economics, and Travel. You will be expected to identify operational challenges, report issues proactively, and contribute to process improvement initiatives. Additionally, you will mentor and train junior data associates, troubleshoot process-related issues, and conduct root cause analyses when necessary. Your responsibilities will also include proofreading and editing content to ensure it meets high-quality standards, conducting quality checks, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to monitor quality progress and implement measures for improvement. This position requires a deep understanding of the subject matter and the ability to adapt your writing style to suit various guidelines and audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Review machine and human-generated demonstrations to generate preference data for training purposes.
  • Create original and engaging content across multiple work types to train LLMs.
  • Write clear, concise, factually and grammatically correct responses adhering to SOPs and style guidelines.
  • Proofread and edit content to ensure high-quality standards, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Research and verify content quality based on Content Guidelines.
  • Approve or reject content based on pre-defined guidelines and explain reasoning behind decisions.
  • Perform quality checks by reviewing and proofreading; provide feedback and training to coworkers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to monitor quality progress and investigate variations.
  • Develop a deep understanding of SMEs for processes and collaborate with stakeholders to test new SOPs.
  • Support leadership and technical teams by participating in training and project management.

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Content Writer, Copywriter, or similar role.
  • Prior experience of 2-4 years in content writing.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Linguistics, Journalism, or Communications.
  • Strong proficiency in English and fluency in one of the following languages: German, Spanish, Arabic, French, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, or Portuguese.
  • Ability to adapt writing style to suit various style guidelines and customers.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Understanding of academic integrity, including plagiarism.

Nice-to-haves
