About the position

Lockheed Martin is seeking an entry-level AI Engineer to join the Artificial Intelligence Center (LAIC) team. This role focuses on leveraging machine learning and artificial intelligence to develop innovative solutions for complex problems in various sectors, including military operations and emergency response. The selected candidate will engage in all phases of the system development lifecycle, from requirements generation to deployment, and will work with cutting-edge technologies such as computer vision and deep learning.

Responsibilities

  • Support the AI Integration team and product portfolio, focusing on the Cognitive Baseline program.
  • Engage in all phases of the system development lifecycle including requirements generation, system and software design, implementation, integration, and flight test.
  • Develop technologies and products that leverage Artificial Intelligence to provide discriminating capability to customers.
  • Participate in low TRL research, proof of concepts, development of prototypes, and transition to production.

Requirements

  • Experience using AI/ML frameworks (Pytorch, Tensorflow, etc.)
  • Experience with multiple libraries (NumPy, OpenCV, Scikit, Pandas, etc.)
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies
  • Experience with Python, Java, C++, GO, or other compiled languages
  • Experience providing best practices and design principles in all program technologies and implementing them across product teams
  • Familiarity with transitioning AI prototypes to production.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience leading other engineers or small teams as a development team
  • Experience with DevOps tools: Docker, Git [GitLab, GitHub], Continuous Integration [CI], Continuous Deployment [CD]
  • Experience writing Dockerfiles, Helm and Kubernetes deployment scripts and templates
  • Experience interfacing with databases (SQL, MongoDB, etc.)
  • Experience with high-performance computing
  • Experience with managing Kubernetes container orchestration platforms including Rancher, OpenShift, k3s, Kubeadm
  • Familiarity with cloud platform management and provisioning including AWS GovCloud and Microsoft Azure
  • Strong communicator and active participant in team communication channels such as Teams/Email
  • TS/SCI Security Clearance
