About the position

The AI Engineer II position is a contract role within the Big Data Services department, focusing on leveraging Generative AI foundation models to address challenges in the oil and gas midstream sector. The engineer will collaborate with the Data Science and Data Engineering teams to design and implement innovative AI applications, ensuring responsible usage and optimization of model performance.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement applications using LLMs and foundation models (e.g., GPT-4, Claude, DALL-E)
• Develop sophisticated prompting strategies and chain-of-thought reasoning systems
• Create APIs and interfaces to connect AI models with existing applications
• Build RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) systems for domain-specific applications
• Ensure responsible AI usage, including safety measures and ethical considerations
• Optimize model performance and costs through efficient prompt design and caching strategies

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in AI engineering
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• Proficiency in AI technologies and methodologies
