As an AI Engineer II at Rocket Lab, you will play a crucial role in exploring and delivering AI solutions that enhance our business processes across various domains, including space systems, engineering, production, supply chain, and finance/accounting. Based at our global headquarters in Long Beach, CA, you will be an integral part of the Business Intelligence and Data Science team, leveraging your mathematical and statistical expertise to identify opportunities and create innovative visions for the future through the application of AI models. Your responsibilities will include mining, interpreting, and cleaning data, while also connecting the dots to uncover hidden opportunities that can help realize the full potential of AI within the organization. In this role, you will enable optimized and smarter business processes by introducing AI technologies that assist Rocket Lab in making insightful decisions, increasing operational efficiency, improving customer experiences, and driving innovation. You will lead the strategic implementation of AI initiatives to gain a competitive edge and prepare for future challenges and opportunities. Additionally, you will establish generative AI capabilities for both structured and unstructured data analysis, utilizing large language models (LLMs) such as GPT-4 and Llama, as well as vector databases and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) architecture to enhance daily work processes. You will also be responsible for developing AI capabilities to search internal document repositories and critical application databases, driving profitability through effective data utilization. Staying updated with the latest developments in LLMs and industry trends will be essential, as you will recommend these advancements to leadership. As an AI strategist and subject matter expert, you will collaborate closely with business teams to identify and implement AI use cases, all while working effectively in a dynamic, vision-driven team that manages multiple conflicting priorities.
