About the position

The AI Engineer at Fearless is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing AI-driven solutions that enhance organizational decision-making and operational efficiency. This role advocates for machine learning, guiding both internal teams and clients towards new efficiencies and services through the application of AI technologies. The engineer will lead projects focused on automating acquisition processes and predictive modeling, ensuring the integration of advanced LLMs into business workflows.

Responsibilities

• Guide the organization in understanding the role of AI and machine learning in digital transformation.
• Grow a community around machine learning and AI for technical and ethical excellence.
• Coach the workforce to identify opportunities with data to impact client missions.
• Serve as the primary expert on generative AI and LLM technologies for clients.
• Lead the research, evaluation, and implementation of advanced LLMs.
• Define best practices and establish AI standards for the organization.
• Research and select appropriate LLMs based on use cases and requirements.
• Fine-tune and customize LLMs for automating repetitive tasks.
• Define the system for creating machine learning documentation.
• Help customers understand the impact of AI on their operating model.
• Design and implement AI tools to automate tasks in acquisition processes.
• Integrate AI solutions into existing workflows with cross-functional teams.
• Develop machine learning models for forecasting and resource management.
• Use AI-driven predictive modeling to optimize decision-making cycles.
• Continuously evaluate and optimize AI model performance.
• Implement feedback loops to refine AI systems based on user input.
• Stay updated with advancements in generative AI and LLMs.
• Collaborate with analysts and technical teams to align AI solutions with goals.
• Conduct analysis and propose machine learning solutions for RFIs and RFPs.

Requirements

• Must possess or have the ability to maintain a TS/SCI clearance with Poly.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Extensive experience leading AI projects from inception to deployment.
• Proven experience in AI/ML roles focusing on natural language processing, generative AI, or LLMs.
• Advanced experience with LLMs such as GPT, BERT, or similar.
• Expertise in designing and fine-tuning LLMs for process automation.
• Proficiency in AI-based predictive modeling for business operations.
• Familiarity with AI-driven automation in acquisition environments.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for AI solutions.
• Strong programming skills in Python and experience with AI/ML frameworks.
• Ability to strategically reason, build relationships, and influence others.
• Experience in analytics, data mining, and predictive modeling.
• Experience with OLTP and OLAP data storage systems.
• Experience with data analysis tools like Hadoop or Apache Spark.
• Experience in data processing and data annotation.
• Effective organizational and time management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

• MS or PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Applied Math, or other quantitative fields.
• Experience with AI/ML in government, defense, or large enterprise settings.
• Familiarity with AI ethics, model interpretability, and explainability.
