About the position

The Staff AI Security Engineer will focus on the research, development, engineering, evaluation, and integration of AI and large language models (LLMs) with an emphasis on security and trust. This role is crucial in enhancing the security of AI-enabled systems and ensuring they serve the public interest effectively.

Responsibilities

• Leading technical efforts in cross-functional teams to develop and implement AI/ML solutions utilizing LLM technology.
• Assessing AI applications and recommending secure, trustworthy solutions.
• Creating prototypes of AI and LLM-based tools for operational needs.
• Analyzing technology solutions and providing actionable recommendations.
• Communicating complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Leading projects or small teams to address complex AI security issues.

Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6+ years with a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5+ years of experience.
• Recent experience with large language models.
• Proficiency with Python and the standard ML toolkit (Tensorflow/Torch, NumPy, Pandas, etc.).
• Capability to independently learn new technologies, methods, and systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance.
• Ability to work on-site at least 50% of the time.

• Active IC or DOD TS/SCI security clearance.
