About the position

The AI Engineer position at a mid-sized software company involves designing and developing AI/ML models and applications to enhance their network product, ITPie. This role is structured as a 6-month contract to hire and is fully remote, targeting junior to mid-level engineers with 2-5 years of experience. The company serves both government and private sectors, with significant usage by the US Army.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop AI/ML models, algorithms, and applications to solve specific problems
• Enhance LLM with retrieval-augmented generation, fine-tuning, and external databases
• Collaborate with existing team members to preprocess and analyze large datasets
• Work with subject matter experts to build out training/testing datasets
• Implement machine learning and deep learning algorithms and frameworks
• Stay up-to-date with the latest AI/ML technologies
• Document code, algorithms, and processes for future references
• Integrate AI/ML models into production systems

Requirements

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and/or C#
• Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and frameworks
• Experience in AI/ML libraries and frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch
• An understanding of large language models
• Familiarity with Cloud environments (e.g. AWS, Azure) and offerings
• United States citizenship
