About the position

We are seeking a skilled AI Engineer to join our Big Data Services team on a contract basis. This role involves collaborating with the Data Science team, Data Engineering, and business stakeholders to address complex challenges in the oil and gas midstream sector using Generative AI technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy applications utilizing large language models (LLMs) and foundational AI technologies such as GPT-4, Claude, and DALL-E.
• Develop and optimize prompting techniques and chain-of-thought reasoning systems for AI models.
• Build and integrate APIs that connect AI solutions with existing business applications.
• Develop and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems tailored to specific domain needs.
• Ensure ethical and responsible AI usage, with a strong focus on safety and compliance.
• Enhance model efficiency and reduce costs through advanced prompt strategies and caching approaches.

Requirements

• Experience working with AI tools and platforms (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic).
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Familiarity with AI frameworks such as LangChain and LlamaIndex.
• Understanding of vector databases and embedding technologies.
• Proficiency in RAG architectures and prompt engineering.
• Experience in web development and integrating APIs with other systems.
• Strong awareness of AI ethics, safety, and responsible implementation.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Excellent communication skills to present complex ideas in a simple and actionable way.
• Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a cross-functional team.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities.
