The AI Engineer position at Lexmark is designed for early-career professionals who are passionate about leveraging Generative AI to enhance productivity and innovation within the company. This role involves collaborating with a team of Data Scientists and Engineers to develop AI applications, optimize processes, and contribute to the company's competitive edge in the printing and imaging industry. The position emphasizes continuous learning and adaptation to the latest technologies in AI and machine learning, ensuring that Lexmark remains at the forefront of technological advancements.

Responsibilities

  • Work with a dynamic and engaging team of Data Scientists, AI Engineers, and Software Engineers to develop and deploy AI applications.
  • Learn and develop tools available within our cloud infrastructure to enhance efficiency and power AI applications.
  • Develop internal applications utilizing Large Language Models, RAG techniques, and agentic AI architectures.
  • Collaborate with the Platform Engineering team to develop and support Generative AI APIs.
  • Extract key information from unstructured, natural language, and multimodal datasets.
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists and Data Engineering teams to build robust ML models and associated data pipelines.
  • Ensure solutions are built using tools and processes that enable quicker and more effective creation of subsequent solutions.
  • Stay educated on the latest advancements in machine learning and AI to create a long-term roadmap for technological innovation.
  • Work within an agile team structure to set yearly and quarterly goals and plan biweekly sprint work items.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong foundation in Natural Language Processing and Generative AI.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, Javascript, and Typescript.
  • Experience with cloud-based tools such as Azure and Databricks.
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning and Deep Learning concepts.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools, likely Power BI.
  • Understanding of database and data structures.
