About the position

The AI Engineer at Capital One will play a crucial role in developing and deploying AI-powered products that enhance customer interactions and improve internal processes. This position is part of the Intelligent Foundations and Experiences (IFX) team, which focuses on advancing AI technology and creating scalable solutions that deliver significant value to millions of customers. The engineer will collaborate with a diverse team to design, develop, and support AI software components, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and optimization techniques to improve performance and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components.
• Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies for various applications.
• Invent and introduce LLM optimization techniques for production AI systems.
• Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or AI plus at least 2 years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies, or Master's degree.
• At least 2 years of experience programming with Python, Go, Scala, or Java.

Nice-to-haves

• 2 years of experience deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
• Experience developing and supporting AI components.
• Experience developing AI and ML algorithms using Python, C++, C#, Java, or Golang.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or relevant technical field.
• Experience optimizing training and inference software for performance.
