About the position

The Machine Learning Engineer will join a national research organization focused on supporting data-driven decision-making and advancing public knowledge across various fields. This role involves specializing in the fine-tuning of machine learning models within the Data Science & Advanced Analytics team, utilizing cloud environments such as AWS and Azure to tackle complex societal issues and produce meaningful insights.

Responsibilities

• Specialize in the fine-tuning of machine learning models.
• Work within AWS and Azure environments to develop and deploy AI/ML solutions.
• Refine and adapt ML models to meet the unique requirements of diverse data-driven projects.
• Leverage innovative methodologies and cutting-edge technology to produce meaningful insights.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience developing and deploying AI/ML solutions on cloud platforms, including AWS and Azure.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
• Hands-on experience with AWS (e.g., Amazon SageMaker, Amazon Rekognition) and Azure AI/ML services (e.g., Azure Cognitive Services).

Nice-to-haves

• Deploy AI/ML models to production environments on AWS and Azure using services like SageMaker Inference and Azure Machine Learning Deployments.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure management, data pipelines, and preprocessing for AI/ML.
• Familiarity with RAG applications, API integration, Co-pilot tools, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong problem-solving skills, with excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Commitment to staying current with AI/ML trends and driving business value through intelligent solutions.
