About the position

The AI Engineer position at Ameritas focuses on developing innovative Generative AI solutions utilizing natural language processing (NLP), natural language understanding (NLU), and computer vision. The role involves designing and implementing advanced machine learning models, particularly language models, to extract insights from diverse data sources, thereby supporting informed decision-making across the organization. This position can be hybrid or remote, with a preference for candidates located near Lincoln, NE.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop A.I. solutions using various tools.
• Fine-tune and train existing base models, implement RAG solutions, and provide technical expertise for language model architectures.
• Participate in the A.I. development life cycle using best practices and standards.
• Collaborate with management on future technology directions and alignment with business plans.
• Engage in complex projects during design, development, and implementation as both an individual contributor and lead team member.
• Create and review technical documents for projects and systems, ensuring they are up to date.
• Work closely with technical team members to ensure functional requirements are accurately translated into technical designs.
• Plan, organize, and execute projects of varying complexity within specified timeframes and budgets.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• 3-5 years of overall related experience required.
• 1 year of experience with Generative AI, small & large language model architectures, neural networks, computer vision, deep learning, language models, or transformers.
• Strong programming skills in Python and experience using AI frameworks like TensorFlow, Pytorch, etc.
• A solid understanding of machine learning and GenAI workflows including data ingestion, analysis, transformation, and evaluation.
