About the position

The Engineering Manager will lead AI initiatives within the Semiconductor Test Division at Teradyne, focusing on both external product development and internal applications of AI technologies. This role is crucial for maintaining Teradyne's competitive edge in the AI supply chain, requiring a strong product mindset and the ability to drive projects and manage a team of engineers effectively.

Responsibilities

• Actively seek opportunities to leverage AI within the organization and support other groups in embracing the technology.
• Manage full-time engineers and ensure they reach their maximum potential.
• Track domain trends and attend (virtual or remote) conferences.
• Work with various members to keep the AI roadmap current.
• Scope and supervise projects that include contract and full-time employees.
• Forecast and manage all project and product costs within the group's roadmap.
• Engage with third parties to evaluate build vs buy options.
• Ensure that the AI Governance Processes are followed effectively in the Product Development Organization.
• Represent Product Development in the corporate AI Center of Excellence.
• Evangelize and educate the organization about AI technologies, trends, opportunities, and risks.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience within software engineering (mix of managing and individual contributor) with at least the last 2 years focused on AI technologies.
• Proven ability to manage taking AI products to market.
• Committed and accountable to take on challenging efforts.
• Team player who takes pride in the success of others.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills effective with different levels of technical and non-technical individuals.
• Ability to manage software engineering projects.
• Experience with agile methodologies.
