About the position

Outlier is seeking talented English writers to assist in training generative artificial intelligence models. This remote, freelance opportunity allows for flexible hours, enabling contributors to work at their convenience. The role involves reading, writing, and assessing AI-generated text to enhance the quality of AI models.

Responsibilities

• Reading English text to rank responses produced by an AI model
• Writing and rewriting prompts and responses, including research and fact-checking
• Assessing the factuality and relevance of text produced by AI models

Requirements

• Experience as a professional writer or editor
• Currently enrolled in or completed a bachelor's degree or higher in a writing-related discipline at a selective institution
• Strong writing style with exceptional English-language spelling and grammar
• Attention to detail and ability to explain strengths and weaknesses of text

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with generative AI models
• Familiarity with fact-checking processes
• Ability to work under tight deadlines
