About the position

We are seeking a skilled and experienced AI/Machine Learning (ML) professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying industry standards, data strategies, and governance, as well as DataOps practices for tactical systems. This role involves enhancing current AI/ML strategies and assessing survivable Edge Computing solutions that support the deployment of AI and ML to the tactical edge. The candidate will also be tasked with building security practices and tools into edge deployments, validating AI commercial vendor products, and developing deep learning models. Additionally, the role requires translating operational needs into ML requirements, evaluating ML model performance, identifying bias in externally developed models, conducting statistical data analysis, and developing user interfaces for deploying ML models. The candidate will leverage cloud infrastructure for developing and deploying ML models.

Responsibilities

  • Apply industry standards, data strategies and governance, data cataloguing, and DataOps practices for tactical systems.
  • Enhance current AI/ML strategies.
  • Assess and provide recommendations for survivable Edge Computing solutions that support deployment/employment of AI and ML to the tactical edge.
  • Build security practices and tools into edge deployments.
  • Validate AI commercial vendor products.
  • Develop deep learning models.
  • Translate operational needs into ML requirements.
  • Evaluate and assess ML model performance.
  • Identify and assess bias in externally developed models.
  • Conduct statistical data analysis.
  • Develop the user interface for deploying ML models.
  • Leverage a cloud infrastructure for developing and deploying ML models.

Requirements

  • Expertise in AI/ML algorithms, languages and frameworks for healthcare data.
  • Software engineering skills and understanding of clinical workflows.
  • Ability to communicate complex topics clearly to cross-functional partners.
  • Passion for advancing healthcare through responsible and innovative AI applications.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex AI concepts to nonexperts.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or relevant STEM degree required.
  • 1 year experience with Translational AI and programming in Python, C++, other relevant languages required.
  • May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum education requirement.
  • Exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount frequently to move objects.
