About the position
Outlier is seeking experienced English writers to assist in training generative artificial intelligence models. This freelance role is remote with flexible hours, allowing contributors to work at their convenience. Writers will engage in reading and ranking AI-generated responses, rewriting prompts, and assessing the factuality and relevance of AI-produced text.
Responsibilities
- Reading English text to rank a series of responses generated by an AI model.
- Writing and rewriting prompts and responses, which may involve research and fact-checking.
- Assessing the factuality and relevance of text produced by AI models.
Requirements
- Experience as a professional writer or editor.
- Currently enrolled in or completed a bachelor's degree or higher in a writing-related discipline at a selective institution.
- A strong sense of writing style paired with exceptional English-language spelling and grammar.
- Logic and reasoning skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to explain clearly the strengths and weaknesses of a given piece of text.
