About the position

As an AI/ML Data Engineer at GDIT, you will play a crucial role in transforming data into actionable insights to support client missions. This position involves developing algorithms, building predictive analytics, and applying machine learning techniques to address big-data challenges. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance data comprehension and provide recommendations for innovative engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and train Large Language Models (LLMs) in support of the customer mission
• Investigate business area processes for creative implementation of LLMs
• Apply data mining techniques to perform statistical analysis
• Assist with technical planning activities, including roadmap development and systems integration
• Collaborate with customers and contractors on technical consultation and meeting coordination
• Participate in the development of technical project plans, reports, and contract briefings

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
• BS/BA in Software Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or similar OR equivalent combination of education and experience
• Familiarity with Large Language Model (LLM) architectures and training procedures
• Experience with Big Data Frameworks such as Spark or Hadoop
• Proficient in Java and Python
• Experience with GPU processing
• Familiarity with data science frameworks such as Keras, Tensorflow, or Theano
• Experience in a Linux environment (e.g., Bash scripting, VI)
• Interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work well in a constantly evolving work environment

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with source code management and integration (e.g., GitHub/GitLab, Jenkins)
• Hands-on experience with cloud technology (AWS / C2S)
• Experience in an Agile environment
• Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., Junit, Mockito, Swagger, Postman)
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle / MySql)
