About the position

At GSK, we envision a future where advanced applications of machine learning and AI will enable us to develop novel therapies for existing diseases and respond swiftly to emerging health challenges with personalized medications. This ambitious vision necessitates the creation of innovative products and solutions at the forefront of machine learning and AI technology. The AI/ML Sequence Learning Team is dedicated to applying machine learning and AI methodologies to biological sequence data, including DNA, RNA, and protein data derived from extensive human genetic, functional genomic, and single-cell experiments. By developing models that operate directly on sequence data, we aim to infer how genetic variants influence protein and RNA abundance, structure, and function, which could revolutionize drug discovery and lead to the identification of new life-saving medicines. We are seeking a highly skilled AI/ML Engineer to help actualize this vision. Ideal candidates will have a proven history of delivering high-performing AI/ML products in production settings. They should possess a strong foundation in machine learning techniques, with both breadth across various methods and depth in at least one specific area. Additionally, candidates must be proficient software engineers with a track record of producing stable, tested, and efficient code and services within an agile framework. A strong educational background in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field is essential, along with a passion for tackling complex challenges in AI and machine learning. While a background in biological sciences is advantageous, a commitment to continuous learning and development is crucial for success in this role. The AI/ML team operates on principles of ownership, accountability, continuous development, and collaboration. We are committed to fostering a long-term career path for our employees and strive to create an exceptional workplace environment. Our leadership is dedicated to supporting your career growth and development from day one.
