About the position

The AI/ML Engineer Sr position at Lockheed Martin involves leading and growing the AI Consulting portfolio within the Artificial Intelligence Center. The role requires a combination of software engineering and AI/ML expertise to develop actionable AI/ML models that address complex business and engineering problems. The selected candidate will collaborate with diverse teams to rapidly iterate and mature solutions from prototypes to deployment, focusing on delivering valuable insights and recommendations to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the AI Consulting portfolio for the business.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify opportunities and requirements for AI/ML models.
• Model complex business and engineering problems using machine learning techniques.
• Track projects and drive them to completion, implementing technical best practices.
• Communicate the value of AI/ML models to business stakeholders.

Requirements

• Previous experience in machine learning areas such as natural language processing, deep learning, anomaly detection, reinforcement learning, and generative AI.
• Experience with software development and engineering best practices.
• Demonstrated creativity in incorporating machine learning into business workflows.
• Experience managing data product projects and interacting with end users.
• Strong problem-solving skills and business acumen.

Nice-to-haves

• Hands-on experience with generative AI models and full-stack applications using LLMs.
• Expertise in natural language processing techniques.
• Experience applying deep learning to various data types.
• Knowledge of data engineering, preferably with AWS or Azure.
• Experience with UI/UX and data visualization best practices.
