About the position

The AI/ML Engineer (AMOE) is a remote position focused on collaborating with a major automotive client. This role combines software engineering, machine learning, and DevOps best practices to build and deploy production ML/AI applications across various business domains. The ideal candidate will work within a small team, emphasizing maintainability, testability, and effective communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Build CI/CD pipelines and deploy applications.
  • Promote security by design and automate processes.
  • Create production ML/AI applications across multiple business domains.
  • Collaborate with vendors and business stakeholders.
  • Capture ideas in diagrams and documentation.
  • Write maintainable and testable code.
  • Conduct code reviews and participate in pair programming.

Requirements

  • 8 years of experience in engineering or related fields.
  • Technical degree in Computer Science or Data Analytics, or equivalent work experience.
  • Relevant technical certifications related to DevOps (e.g., CKA, CKS, RHCSA).
  • Fluency in Python, including writing method and class docstrings.
  • Comfortable with Git and writing quality PRs.
  • Strong command line skills in Unix-like environments.
  • Excellent understanding of networking and security.
  • Experience with containers and orchestration, particularly Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and cloud deployment using tools like Terraform and Argo CD.
  • Understanding of ML/AI concepts and practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of standard ML/AI libraries (e.g., Pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow).
  • Fluency in other programming languages (e.g., Go, JavaScript).
  • Familiarity with software architecture for building scalable systems.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data ingestion and analysis.
