About the position

The AI/ML Engineer (AMOE) role is a contract position focused on applying software engineering, machine learning, and DevOps best practices to build and deploy production ML/AI applications. The position involves collaboration with a major automotive client and requires strong communication skills to work effectively with vendors and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a passion for learning across the tech stack and a commitment to writing maintainable and testable code.

Responsibilities

• Build CI/CD pipelines for ML/AI applications.
• Deploy applications and promote security by design.
• Automate processes to enhance efficiency.
• Collaborate with vendors and business stakeholders.
• Capture ideas in diagrams and documentation.
• Write maintainable and testable code with integration tests.
• Utilize remote collaboration tools effectively.

Requirements

• 8 years of experience in engineering roles.
• Technical degree in Computer Science or Data Analytics, or equivalent work experience.
• Relevant technical certifications, especially in DevOps (CKA, CKS, RHCSA, etc.).
• Fluency in Python, including writing method and class docstrings.
• Comfortable with Git and GitHub for code development and deployment.
• Strong command line skills in Unix-like environments.
• Excellent understanding of networking and security principles.
• Experience with containers and orchestration, particularly Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and cloud deployment using tools like Terraform and Argo CD.
• Understanding of ML/AI concepts and practices.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of standard ML/AI libraries such as Pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch/JAX.
• Fluency in other programming languages, particularly Go and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with software architecture for building scalable systems.
• Proficiency in SQL for data ingestion and analysis.
