About the position

The AI/ML Research Scientist at Riverside Research Institute is responsible for initiating and executing technology research projects in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning. This role involves investigating the feasibility of applying scientific principles to potential inventions and products, planning and executing applied research, and maintaining knowledge of state-of-the-art technologies. The position also includes contributing to scientific literature and conferences, and may involve coordinating interdepartmental research efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Initiates the design, development, execution, and implementation of technology research projects.
  • Investigates the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions and products.
  • Plans and executes applied research while maintaining substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories.
  • Contributes to scientific literature and conferences, and may participate in the development of patent applications.
  • Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise and adapts communication style to deliver messages effectively.
  • Advises others on complex matters and may be accountable for the delivery of tactical business targets.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree, 6 years with a Master's degree, or a PhD with 3 years of experience.
  • Current TS/SCI clearance.
  • Ability to conduct research in state-of-the-art AI/machine learning projects, including image and signal classification using CNNs and other deep learning networks.
  • Experience with neuromorphic computing, human-computer interaction, natural language processing, and virtual/augmented reality.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in coding environments and deliver prototypes using signal-centric computing technologies.
  • Ability to code in various integrated development environments and learn new programming skills as required.
