About the position

Lockheed Martin is seeking a high-energy AI/ML Software Architect to support various Machine Learning programs within the Cognitive Operations, Research and Technology for Experimental AI (CORTEX AI) group. This role involves collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement software architecture solutions for mission-critical applications in the field of artificial intelligence and edge solutions. The architect will define the architecture of autonomous components, make technical decisions, and ensure integration with other systems to meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with data scientists, machine learning engineers, mathematicians, physicists, and software engineers to accomplish the mission.
• Develop and implement software architecture solutions using state-of-the-art tools and concepts.
• Define the architecture of autonomous components of Lockheed Martin products or platforms from concept to specifications.
• Recommend and make technical decisions on techniques and solutions, and how solutions will be integrated and deployed with other systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics).
• Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, or Image Processing.
• Familiarity with modern software development tools and practices, including MLOps.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance required.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, or Scikit-learn.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services or another cloud computing platform.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment.
• Machine Learning software development experience.
• Proficient with Jira and Confluence.
