About the position

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Solutions Architect to support U.S. Government customers in the DC Metro area, focusing on the Intelligence Community. This role involves implementing innovative cloud computing solutions, solving technical problems, and providing consultative leadership to ensure project success. The Solutions Architect will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in AWS AI/ML services, driving the adoption of advanced AWS services and enabling large-scale use cases. The position requires a strong understanding of security best practices and the ability to influence product development through customer feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Be a subject matter expert on AWS AI/ML services including SageMaker, Bedrock, Transcribe and Textract.
  • Have experience in architecture, design, and engineering of MLOps and generative AI solutions.
  • Represent the voice of the customer; bring customer feedback to product teams to influence feature development and future product roadmap.
  • Provide advanced technical knowledge to unblock our customers' largest and most critical business challenges.
  • Deploy data and machine learning strategies with technical depth and business experience.
  • Act as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures and public-speaking events.
  • Partner with Sales Specialist teams to define the technical components of best in class GTM concepts, solutions, and initiatives.
  • Develop and support an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts worldwide.
  • Create field enablement materials for the broader SA population, to help them understand how to integrate Amazon Web Services solutions into customer architectures.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of specific technology domain areas experience (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
  • 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience.
  • 5+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience.
  • Bachelor's degree, or CASP+, CCSP, Cloud+, or CSSLP certification.
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in technology/software sales, pre-sales, or consulting.
  • Experience working with AI/ML models, including training, inference and detailed scientific analysis.
  • Experience with GenAI Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) and Machine Learning (ML).
  • Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • AWS Solution Architecture certification or relevant cloud expertise.
