About the position

Meta is seeking exceptional AI Research Scientists to join our AI organization, specifically focusing on Computer Vision with a technical leadership role. Individuals in this position are expected to be recognized experts in various domains such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, computational statistics, and applied mathematics. The role emphasizes deep learning, graphical models, reinforcement learning, computer perception, natural language processing, and data representation. The ideal candidate will not only have a passion for producing new scientific insights to enhance our understanding of intelligence but will also be keen on translating these research findings into practical applications that address real-world challenges. In this role, you will advance the science and technology of intelligent machines, contributing to research that enables the understanding of data semantics across multiple modalities, including images, video, text, and audio. You will work on projects that are of moderate to high complexity, identifying and defining both short and medium-term objectives. Your responsibilities will include designing policies, processes, and methods from the ground up, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of how to integrate these into end-to-end systems. You will independently lead projects and collaborate cross-functionally to bring research advancements to production teams and Meta products. Your influence will extend to the research community through publications, and you will devise improved data-driven models of human behavior. Planning and executing cutting-edge research and development will be key, particularly in areas such as machine perception, mapping, reconstruction, localization, and 3D scene understanding across various sensing systems. Collaboration with other researchers and engineers will be essential to develop experiments, prototypes, and concepts that push the boundaries of AR/VR systems. Additionally, you will assist in designing, setting up, and running practical experiments related to large-scale sensing and machine reasoning.
