About the position

As an AI Software Developer at State Street, you will play a crucial role in exploring, enabling, and exploiting artificial intelligence, machine learning, natural language processing, cognitive computing, and intelligent automation at scale, particularly within the financial data, risk, and global markets sectors. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in machine learning engineering, focusing on feature engineering, model training, model serving, model monitoring, and model refresh management. You will be responsible for developing AI/ML systems that operate at scale, either in production environments or high-impact research settings. Your proficiency in natural language processing, especially with large language models (LLMs) and generative AI systems, will be essential for success in this role. In this position, you will architect and develop technical solutions that address business requirements across multiple development teams and a variety of financial products. A solid understanding of machine learning algorithms and techniques, including supervised learning, unsupervised learning, and deep learning, is necessary. You will work with large-scale datasets and implement scalable machine learning solutions, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about complex technical challenges. Excellent communication skills are vital, as you will need to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop technical solutions to meet business requirements across multiple development teams.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of machine learning engineering experience.

  • Familiarity with frameworks and tools such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Strong coding and software engineering skills, with knowledge of testing, code reviews, and deployment.
  • Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms and techniques, including supervised and unsupervised learning.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with transformer models and understanding their underlying principles.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and experience working in agile teams.
