About the position

The AI Software & Systems Architect position at Lockheed Martin involves leading the Integration AI team and the Beacon portfolio, focusing on the application of AI/ML technologies to enhance DevSecOps processes. The role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise in software development, and the ability to communicate complex concepts effectively. The selected candidate will work closely with product teams, provide technical guidance, and ensure adherence to coding standards while maintaining a flexible work environment that supports remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a diverse team in the Integration AI team and Beacon portfolio.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to various stakeholders.
  • Drive the vision for IRADs and BA engagements related to Beacon.
  • Apply AI/ML technologies to DevSecOps processes and develop system requirements for AI/ML services.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers to ensure code quality and adherence to LAIC Coding Standards.
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner to define implementation approaches and technical solutions.
  • Execute Agile methodologies for planned sprints and releases.
  • Develop and maintain a multi-language AI/ML Microservice framework and related APIs.
  • Maintain a suite of tests and example applications for the Microservice software platform.
  • Produce engineering documentation and software user guides, including website frontend.
  • Develop and maintain program GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
  • Provide help desk and ad-hoc support to program staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, C++, AMQ, gRPC, XML, JSON, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, GitLab CI/CD.
  • Experience with Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes.
  • Prior experience leading a complex and diverse team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in applying AI/ML to DevSecOps processes and developing system requirements for AI/ML services.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
  • Secret or Top Secret Clearance.
  • Experience with NextJS, React, REST, Kafka, RabbitMQ, ZeroMQ, Elastic.
  • AWS GovCloud and/or Azure management experience or certifications.
  • Experience working with distributed development teams.
