About the position

Stellar Solutions is seeking a Mechanical/Electrical Assembly, Integration, and Test (AI&T) Technical Support Engineer to provide on-site support for a NASA program in North Logan, Utah. The role involves performing mechanical and electrical assembly, integration, and testing tasks for space flight hardware and associated ground support equipment, ensuring adherence to protocols and contributing to the successful integration and testing of critical hardware components.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical and electrical assembly, integration, and test (AI&T) tasks for space flight hardware and associated ground support equipment.
  • Follow written procedures for assembly and testing.
  • Assemble simple and complex parts and assemblies.
  • Clean parts and assemblies as required.
  • Record work completed accurately.
  • Interface with other disciplines such as quality assurance and machine shop.
  • Work evenings and weekend shifts as needed.
  • Monitor testing in vacuum chambers and other environments.
  • Generate material for program reviews, including Pre-Ship Review.
  • Attend team meetings to discuss progress and issues.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform physical activities requiring considerable use of arms, legs, and moving the entire body, such as climbing and lifting approximately 50 lbs.
  • Ability to spend substantial time standing and handling small parts with precision and dexterity.
  • Ability to hear audible machine sounds and determine when a change in sound indicates an issue.
  • Ability to wear complete clean-room apparel for extended periods.
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work through problems that may arise.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with space flight hardware and associated care and cleanliness protocols.
  • Technical training applicable to the role.
  • Experience in assembly and testing of small, intricate mechanical assemblies.
  • Ability to support electrical integration and test activities as needed.
  • Experience working in a cleanroom environment or with contamination control during assembly.
  • Experience with environmental testing including thermal vacuum chambers and vibration testing.
