About the position

Outlier is seeking experienced English writers to assist in training generative AI models through a freelance opportunity. This role involves reading, writing, and assessing AI-generated text, providing valuable human feedback to enhance AI performance. The position is remote with flexible hours, allowing contributors to work at their convenience.

Responsibilities

• Read English text to rank responses produced by an AI model.
• Write and rewrite prompts and responses, including research and fact-checking.
• Assess the factuality and relevance of text produced by AI models.

Requirements

• Experience as a professional writer or editor.
• Currently enrolled in or completed a bachelor's degree or higher in a writing-related discipline at a selective institution.
• Strong writing style with exceptional English-language spelling and grammar skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to clearly explain strengths and weaknesses of text.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in grammar evaluation.
• Familiarity with AI model training processes.
