About the position

Outlier is seeking experienced English writers to assist in training generative artificial intelligence models through reading and writing tasks. This freelance opportunity is remote with flexible hours, allowing contributors to work at their convenience. Writers will engage in ranking AI-generated responses, rewriting prompts, and assessing the factuality and relevance of AI outputs.

Responsibilities

• Read English text to rank a series of responses produced by an AI model.
• Write and rewrite prompts and responses, which may involve research and fact-checking.
• Assess the factuality and relevance of text produced by AI models.

Requirements

• Experience as a professional writer or editor.
• Currently enrolled in or completed a bachelor's degree or higher in a writing-related discipline at a selective institution.
• Strong writing style with exceptional English-language spelling and grammar.
• Logic and reasoning skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to clearly explain strengths and weaknesses of text.
