In this role, you will be part of a dynamic team at Apple Machine Learning Research (MLR) that is dedicated to pioneering the next generation of machine learning technology. As a mid-level or senior researcher, you will engage in ambitious, curiosity-driven long-term research projects that are designed to have a significant impact on the future of Apple and its products. This position offers you the unique opportunity to work on innovative foundational research in machine learning, with a focus on publishing your findings and collaborating across various teams within the company. You will have the freedom to define your own research agenda and tackle open-ended problems, all while having access to real-world challenges and data through Apple's product teams. Currently, the MLR team is particularly interested in large generative models for vision and language, with a keen focus on aspects such as fairness, reasoning, robustness, efficiency, and uncertainty in these models. Your strong research background in machine learning or related fields will be crucial as you regularly publish your results in leading conferences and journals, ensuring that your research is of high quality and reproducible. As part of your responsibilities, you will propose and execute your own research plans to advance the understanding of machine learning, collaborating closely with colleagues to implement and experiment with your ideas. This role not only allows you to contribute to cutting-edge research but also to collaborate with broader teams across Apple, enhancing the impact of your work.
