In this role, you will be part of the Apple Machine Learning Research (MLR) team, contributing to the next revolution of machine learning technology. We are seeking passionate mid-level and senior researchers who are eager to engage in ambitious, curiosity-driven long-term research projects that will significantly impact the future of Apple and its products. As a member of MLR, you will have the freedom to define your own research agenda, tackle open-ended problems, and publish your findings in high-quality scientific venues. You will also have access to real-world problems and data through collaboration with Apple's product teams. Our current focus within MLR is on large generative models for vision and language, with particular interests in fairness, reasoning, robustness, efficiency, and uncertainty in these models. You will be expected to have a strong research background in machine learning or related fields, regularly publishing your results in relevant conferences and journals. Your role will involve proposing your own research plan to advance the understanding of machine learning, executing it through implementation and experimentation, and collaborating with colleagues across various teams at Apple. Additionally, you will provide technical mentorship and guidance to peers, prepare technical reports for publication, and present your work at conferences.
