We are a group of engineers and researchers responsible for building foundation models at Apple. Our team focuses on creating infrastructure, datasets, and models that possess fundamental general capabilities, including the understanding and generation of text, images, speech, videos, and other modalities. These models are then applied to enhance Apple products, aiming to push the boundaries of deep learning in terms of scaling, efficiency, and flexibility, ultimately delighting millions of users. In this role, you will collaborate with a close-knit and rapidly growing team of world-class engineers and scientists to tackle some of the most challenging problems in foundation models and deep learning. This includes areas such as natural language processing, multi-modal understanding, and the integration of learning with knowledge. Example applications of your work may include web-scale information retrieval, developing human-like conversational agents, enhancing multi-modal perception for existing products and future hardware platforms, and implementing on-device intelligence and learning with strong privacy protections. You will also have the opportunity to identify and develop novel applications of deep learning that can be integrated into Apple products. Your innovative ideas will not only be published in academic papers but will also contribute to improving the experience of millions of users around the world.
