About the position

The role involves contributing to the development of generative AI applications at Apple, focusing on safety and robustness in machine learning models. As part of the Global Safety team, the position requires addressing challenges in generative models, particularly in international markets, ensuring compliance with Apple's global standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Establish and define safety best practices for generative AI applications.
• Streamline evaluations and work on model alignment, particularly for multilingual models.
• Conduct general safety evaluations and oversee red teaming initiatives.
• Manage multilingual guardrail modeling and data generation frameworks.
• Collaborate with machine learning engineers, software engineers, policy makers, and design teams to develop solutions.

Requirements

• M.S. or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or Human-Computer Interaction.
• 4+ years of proven experience working on Machine Learning products facing external customers.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Swift, or ObjectiveC.
• Strong understanding of research fundamentals, machine learning principles, and development methodologies around LLMs, foundation models, and diffusion models.
