About the position

The position involves working with the Geo domain team at Apple to enhance the user experience of Siri and other Apple products by improving local search capabilities. The role focuses on leveraging deep learning models to understand user queries, rank documents, and provide relevant local information. Candidates will be part of a diverse team that combines technical expertise with a passion for local exploration, contributing to the development of a world-class Maps experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing search ranking and relevance requirements issues and opportunities
• Utilizing PyTorch and proprietary tools for training deep learning models
• Understanding product requirements then translating them into modeling tasks and engineering tasks
• Building machine-learned models for query understanding and search ranking
• Develop and maintain large scale indexing and ML data pipelines

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in natural language processing, machine learning or deep learning
• Proficient in Python, Go, Java, or C++ with a strong background in algorithms and data structures
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and in a team
• Strong knowledge and practical skills in major machine learning algorithms
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams
