About the position

The Siri and Information Intelligence team at Apple is seeking a skilled applied machine learning engineer to enhance the intelligence of Siri and other Apple products. Responsibilities

• Understand user queries and intents to improve information retrieval and generation.
• Retrieve and rank documents to generate helpful answers for users.
• Work on data generation, evaluation, and safety in machine learning applications.
• Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers to develop and enhance machine learning models.
• Translate product requirements into modeling and engineering tasks.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Information Retrieval, Data Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years of industry-related experience in collaborative environments.
• Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX for training and deploying deep learning models.
• Proficient in at least two programming languages such as C/C++, Go, Python, or Java.
• Ability to analyze product requirements and translate them into actionable tasks.

Nice-to-haves

• Advanced degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science or Machine Learning.
• Experience in analyzing search ranking and relevance requirements.
• Experience in building machine-learned models for search relevance ranking and query understanding.
