About the position

The Siri and Information Intelligence team at Apple is seeking a skilled applied machine learning engineer to enhance the intelligence of Siri and other Apple products. This role involves working on real-time augmented information retrieval, generation, and safety technologies, contributing to user-facing production services that impact millions of users. The position offers the opportunity to shape future products by leveraging advanced machine learning techniques and strong software engineering skills.

Responsibilities

• Shape upcoming products by applying machine learning and software engineering techniques.
• Understand user queries and intents to retrieve and rank documents and generate helpful answers.
• Work on data generation, evaluation, and safety in machine learning applications.
• Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers to push the limits of information retrieval and generation.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Information Retrieval, Data Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years of industry-related experience in collaborative environments.
• Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX for training and deploying deep learning models.
• Ability to translate product requirements into modeling and engineering tasks.
• Proficient in at least two programming languages such as C/C++, Go, Python, or Java.

Nice-to-haves

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Information Retrieval, Data Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Experience analyzing search ranking and relevance requirements.
• Experience building machine-learned models for search relevance ranking and query understanding.
