In this role at Apple, you will be part of a dynamic team focused on building the next generation of generative AI applications. As a data scientist or engineer, you will engage in ambitious projects that aim to shape the future of Apple and its products, as well as contribute to the broader world of technology. Your work will primarily revolve around innovative problems in machine learning, particularly in the realm of large language models (LLMs). You will be a member of the Apple HCMI/Responsible AI group, where you will work on generative models that will enable a variety of new features and contribute to long-term research in the generative AI space. The team is particularly interested in large generative models for vision and language, with a focus on safety, robustness, and uncertainty in these models. Your responsibilities will include researching and developing Responsible AI evaluation methods to enhance the quality of Apple Intelligence's user-facing products. You will create evaluation datasets to address complex, non-routine analysis problems, applying sophisticated analytical methods as necessary. Conducting analyses will involve data gathering, requirements specification, processing, analysis, and presenting findings. You will also build and prototype analysis pipelines iteratively to provide insights at scale. A deep understanding of data structures and metrics will be essential, as you will advocate for necessary changes to support product development. Collaboration with engineering teams on core machine learning algorithms and systems will be a key aspect of your role, ensuring that features function effectively and efficiently.
